Phenolic resins are found in many industrial products.

Phenolic laminates are created by permeating one or several layers of a base material such as paper, cotton or fiberglass, with phenolic resin and then laminating the resin-saturated base material with heat and pressure. During this process, the resin fully cures, forming the thermoset polymer matrix. The choice of base material depends on the intended application of the finished product.
